Classical Rock ‘n’ Rollin’ Along, Vol. 2

June 10, 2026

I made progress this week towards my dream of playing Itty Bitty Camper Jams wherever I land. I designed a logo, sent the PDF file to a friend with a Cricut machine, and she was kind enough to make me some labels for Itty Bitty. It *only* took me four hours to successfully adhere them correctly, sheesh, but they look really nice and should generate some interest.

On June 9th, I played a private, lakeside house party with Charley Wagner, and the more of those that I play, the more I realize they are among my favorite kinds of gigs. To play in nature to an appreciative listening audience is so rewarding! I just love hearing the birds singing along and engaging with the attentive audience! I need to figure out how to promote and play more house parties. If you have ideas, please let me know, and if you would like to host one, or know someone who might, please let me know. Helping me spread the word would be wonderful, too!

Tomorrow, June 11th, will be a big day of gigs. I’ll play for the Noon Hour Concert Series at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, starting at 12:15. I’ll be playing on a beautiful grand piano, and the acoustics in the sanctuary are just amazing! I’ll play a mix of my Classical Rock arrangements, and I hope the audience will enjoy them.

Then, one of my favorite events of summer, 2nd Street Stage, will kick off at 6:00! Mark Joseph and the American Soul will be playing, and he’ll call me on stage to sit in on a song or two. It will be my first chance to play for 2nd Street Stage!

Friday, I’ll play another private, lakeside house party with Charley Wagner, and I’ll finish up this crazy week on Sunday, June 14th, when I’ll play at the Iron Horse in Nevis from 11 to 2 for the town’s Sites ‘n’ Bites event. Stop by if you’re in the area, won’t you? Oh, and don’t forget that Kelly Reller and I host Open Mics in Nevis on the Shenanigans stage under the water tower every Tuesday at 6. It’s a great way to get to know our community and listen to music!
